Unilag has released the 2024/25 admission cut off marks and admission will set in immediately.
It’s therefore pertinent for students to stay updated as admission status will start changing and screening will also start almost immediately.
The first set of people that will be admitted are those who made the merit or catchment cut off marks. When I say catchment cut off marks I mean those who are indigene of the states contained in the cut off mark. They include Lagos, Ogun, Oyo, Ondo, Ekiti and Osun. So if you don’t meet the merit cut off mark and you are from these states you’ll be considered for admission and it’s a 100% sure thing only if you didn’t meet the Olevel and Jamb admission requirements or you didn’t upload your olevel on JAMB portal, also if you changed your course late and it didn’t reflect on UNILAG portal.
Admission comes in department by department and in alphabetic sequence. For example, departments that start with A such as Architecture, Actuarial science to Z. Admission may come in Faculty by Faculty. For example, admission might start with faculties that start with A etc. When a student have been considered for admission, his CAPS change from “NOT ADMITTED” to “ADMISSION IN PROGRESS” few days or few weeks, it changes to ADMITTED. The students then assume his duty of accepting or rejecting the admission.

If you met all the requirements and you met the cut off mark, then congratulations 🎉 you are to monitor your admission status on JAMB portal. You caps will change from Not admitted to Admission in progress, there after it will change to Admitted. Once it changes to admitted, kindly proceed to print your admission letter.
Note that admission are always in batches so if yours didn’t change immediately you shouldn’t panic, keep monitoring your caps.
However, before your caps change to Admitted, it is important to gather your documents ahead of screening as there will be no time to start gathering these documents and these documents might be hard to get. So early preparation is important.

The merit admission screening begins first before supplementary and Direct entry screening which will be announced at a later date
The following documents are required of students to gather ahead of the admission screening exercise.
✓ Birth Certificate
✓ Unilag post utme result
✓ Letter of Reference (original copy) from a reputable Clergyman/Imam/Lawyer/Senior Civil Servant (on Letterhead, indicate status in Office, Lawyers to use the Valid NBA Seal [NOT THE RED SEAL]), addressed to The Registrar, University of Lagos
✓ Testimonial from Secondary School attended
✓ State of Origin Certificate
✓ JAMB Admission Letter
✓ Jamb original result/UTME Result Slip (Coloured and photocopy: Not Applicable to Direct Entry candidates)
✓ O’Level Result (WAEC certificate/GCE/Neco)
✓ Previous Degree Certificate (for DIRECT Entry candidates only)
✓ Direct entry acknowledgement slip
✓ Unilag Application form (for direct entry candidates)
✓ Passport Photographs (12 Copies: full names should be written on the reverse side)
Please note that all candidates are to present the original copies of all credentials (birth certificate/sworn affidavit, testimonial, state of origin and WAEC certificate) for sighting.
BIRTH CERTIFICATE: This document can be gotten from any location around you. Ensure it is that given by National Population Commission and must be back dated. You can also contact YOMSDIRECT for your birth certificate.

REFERENCE LETTER: This document should be gotten from your Imam/Pastor or Senior civil servant and must be addressed to The Registrar, Admissions office.

SECONDARY SCHOOL TESTIMONIAL Kindly visit the school you finished from to get the testimonial. You might have written your waec or neco elsewhere you can use the school you finished from.
STATE OF ORIGIN CERTIFICATE: This document can be gotten from your state liaison office in your location. To know your state liaison office in your location, kindly visit Google and type Ogun state liaison office in Lagos or what ever state you are. The address will be available and follow the address given to you. You can also contact YOMSDIRECT for your state of origin.
