JAMB REVERSES ADMISSION AGE LIMIT TO 20, REVEALS REFUND POLICY, RESTRICTION
The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has just dropped a bombshell that will change the face of university admissions in Nigeria.
In a surprise move, JAMB has officially reversed its admission age limit, now requiring all candidates to be at least 20 years old to sit for the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME).
But that’s not all – JAMB has also revealed further restrictions that will raise eyebrows across the nation:
– All candidates will be required to provide proof of vocational training or entrepreneurship experience before being considered for admission.
– Candidates from educationally disadvantaged states will no longer be eligible for special consideration or lower cut-off marks.
– All universities will be required to adopt a uniform admission criteria, eliminating any institutional discretion.
According to JAMB officials, the reason for the new age limit is to allow candidates who have completed secondary school education to engage in vocational training, acquire skills and contribute to the nation’s development. This move aims to address the alarming rate of unemployment, as white-collar jobs are no longer readily available.
“The era of relying solely on university degrees is over,” said a JAMB spokesperson. “We must equip our youth with practical skills to drive innovation, entrepreneurship and economic growth.”
As a result of this new policy, candidates under the age of 20 who have already registered for the exam will not be allowed to sit for the exam. However, they will receive a full refund of their registration fees.
But what do these changes mean for the million of candidates who have already registered for the exam? Will they be forced to put their university dreams on hold?
You’ll have to wait and see… or will you?
APRIL FOOL!
Common, dust your books and read like mad, admission age still remains 16.
